I was wondering if anyone had a sample schedule that could be shared to show how to schedule classroom lessons for my K-5 classes for the year.
I see my students, K-6, 2 classes per grade level, once a month. I schedule ahead with each teacher at the beginning of the school year for the best time for their class, ie Tuesdays after lunch, and most of the grades I teach back to back. I then send out a calendar at the beginning of each month, hard copy, to each teacher ahead of time, with their time and day highlighted, in case of conflicts or last minute schedule changes. I make the calendar reflect my theme for the month, IE FRIENDSHIP, and put a nice graphic on so they can hang it up in the classroom and all the kids know when I'm coming in!.
Hey my schedule isn't exactly one I can share without explanation. We have 4 classes per grade level except for 1st grade which has 5. At my school we have art, music, pe, and library as specials. Our system also has common planning for each grade level. So in order for the students to have a 5th special they rotate what special they will repeat on Wednesdays. Instead of them having Library twice in one week I see those students on Wednesdays. It works out that they see me about once a month. Its kind of confusing but it works well for our school.
